So this is a great gift for my son. He loves to build and create. I know he next level as he is putting together the blocks for ages twice his age and he is 9. I wanted something that would challege him but also give hime the imagination to make other items. The build with the instructions is fun and there are many designs to build. The instruction are great and I love that the pictures are also included. The blocks are of good quality. I will be ordering again. Price is perfect with all the items you receive and the instruction of how many different items you can create. Overall this is the perfect gift for your little builder as the creative side of the mind will be challenged. Hope this was HELPFUL in your decision to enjoy some peace and quiet.

My kids loved these! I like the variety of ones you can build with the same set!

Love this set! This was our first Engino brand car we got and totally loved it. The pieces were super easy for a 6 year old and she was able to put this together completely on her own without instruction for a good hour!

What an amazing product! I checked out their website as well, and they have quite a variety of different building kits for different ages. If you haven’t thought about what to get your kiddo for Christmas, I HIGHLY recommend getting into the Engino brand.

The box was well designed with one simple book and different pieces in multiple bags. The book also gave really good information learning about the individual item so it turned it into a fun building class.

To top it off, it comes with a 3-D CAD rendering instruction step-by-step app we downloaded to my phone in case we lost the booklet it came with. Engineers use CAD for developing plans, so to teach a 6-year-old how to follow CAD directions by zooming in/out and developing a final deliverable with visual steps to follow is probably the coolest underappreciated thing I’ve seen in a while.

My daughter he was super excited to get this set and within an hour, she had her first complete build! These are not teeny tiny like you would expect with Legos, but they do require some complexity in piecing them together and it’s SOOO rewarding. They have different models for different age ranges too some sets for 3+ year olds!

If your kiddo is too small and gets frustrated easily, it would require a lot of your attention to keep them focused, and to ensure they don’t bite the pieces. For a six-year-old, this now became a product I donated to our local primary school. My daughter loved it so much that she wanted other kids to experience putting it together and feeling good about it!

Well done, Engino! Maybe the company will reach out to me and I can be their school advocate!

I wish I could give these sets 100 stars for first graders!

This Engino Builder is a good toy for older kids, 6+ to build different types of models. All the parts are well built and there’s no problem with repeated use (take apart and put back together). The pieces can be a bit tight which makes it hard to take apart. I find that younger kids may need help clicking the blocks together because of the tight fit. There’s only 3 models in the provided instruction manual and you would have to download the app to get the rest of 22 models. One thing I don’t like is that the building instruction in the booklet is different from the app. So use either one or the other. Other than that I really like the toy and would recommend for kids and young adults.

This kit is part of the Engino "Creative Builder" line. This is a very sturdy kit that is not intended for the very young child. It is a great project for a parent and child to do together, however.

The kit comes with printed instructions to make 3 different projects: the "Spitfire", the "Apache", and the "Hang Glider", one at a time. Each project requires most of the pieces that come in the kit.

There is an app that can be downloaded that contains great instructions for 22 more kits. These instructions are clear, with piece by piece instructions that can be rotated in 3D to see it from all sides. On a complicated design, this is very helpful. One thing we did notice, was that in the app, the colors of the pieces did not always match the actual pieces. That can be a bit confusing.

The kit comes with a tool for taking the pieces apart when you are ready to move on the next project.

I got these for the grandkids to play with when they come over. I had to test them first of course! When I first tried to put two blocks together I found myself a bit challenged. I was expecting them to just snap together like Legos do. Some of them do work that way, but for most of them you have to snap them in from the side. Once I figured that out it wasn't too hard to assemble them. For me it was helpful to sort them by color first and that made it easier to find the correct parts. While they are a little harder than Legos to assemble, I really like how secure they are once you snap them together. Your creation is not going to just fall apart. I think the grandkids are going to love these!

FAQs

What is the appropriate age to play with ENGINO?

The ENGINO system has been tested with children with the association of teachers and the department of Education of the University of Cyprus. It has been found that small models can be built even by 5 years old children. Bigger and complex models are more suited to 8-12 year olds, and our robotics and mega sets are targeting both youngsters and grown-ups as being more hobby items.

What if I lose some parts or manuals? Can I get replacements?

You can buy parts, instructions and books at a very low price from our online shop.

How is the quantity of parts compared to value for money?

Usually construction toys refer to the number of parts contained in a set as an indication of the set's building value. With ENGINO system this reference does not actually apply because the system is unique and the design of the parts allows multiple connectivity in all directions at the same time. As a result, there is no need for intermediate connectors between rods while ENGINO rods are also connectors! The ENGINO system can be described as a combination of the brick system and the spatial "connectors and rod" system. As of that, with ENGINO to build a model you only need around half the parts that you would require with any other conventional system! Furthermore, as ENGINO parts are bigger, the model is also bigger and more manageable. Parts are not easily lost and sets can combine together to create an infinite number of builds. Because the "number of parts" is actually misleading, we have introduced a new term called "connecting points" that indicates how many connections are possible with the particular parts contained in each set.

How ecological are ENGINO sets?

ENGINO pays much attention to the manufacturing and distribution of ecological products. All products are environmentally friendly because they can be recycled. ENGINO offers solar products where the motor is powered by solar panel instead of batteries. We have also launched the award winning series of Eco Builds which is based on a new innovation of ENGINO toy system connecting sustainable beech wood with plastic parts. The use of wood reduces significantly the plastic parts and leads to more efficient recycling, making this product an environmental friendly solution.
