Description

The new CREATIVE ENGINEERING series is the most compact presentation of ENGINO® system, ideal for online stores, saving warehouse space and logistics cost. The best-selling models of our traditional ENGINO® ranges have been bundled together in these sets, empowering children to become young engineers and inventors. The series places special emphasis on creativity by allowing many models to be created from the same set. The models are STEMIFIED™ by activating new, pedagogically advanced, digital content that covers major STEM principles with theory and experimental activities. Each set comes in a plastic tub for easy storage and continual play. The “Maker Junior” set covers preschool kids aging from 4-6 with the award-winning Qboidz® system, while the “Maker Master” is the ideal solution for older kids of ages 7-12+. “Maker Master” sets start from the “20 models in 1” tub and scale up in complexity and creative potential with the “60 models in 1” tub that includes also motorized control. Even though ENGINO® system is suitable for both boys and girls, a special edition named “Maker girl” is also available, aiming to more actively engage girls in to STEM.

The quality of the plastic and connectors is excellent. We’ve built and rebuilt the same set many times, and it still feels brand new.

Priya Nanda, San Jose, CA

We gave an Engino STEM kit as a birthday gift — it completely outshined the other toys! It keeps our son engaged for hours while teaching him valuable skills.

Ali Khan, Toronto, ON

The instructions are super clear and visual. My 8-year-old was able to build models all by himself within minutes. Great confidence booster!

Sarah Thompson, Chicago, IL

We tried several robotics kits before this, but Engino stands out. It’s not just plug-and-play — kids actually learn how the parts work.

Our family loves toys that we can build ourselves and use our imaginations with and this set was a perfect fit.

The box it comes in is reuseable and latches on both sides and has a convenient carry handle to make storing this set easy. Right off the bat, I noticed that the tires are actually a rubber material so whatever we create will be able to actually roll and won’t just slide around. I also love that this comes with an extracting tool so in the event a piece is hard to get off, the tool can be used.

I found the pieces easy to assemble and remove. I also like that the instructions have educational information about space, and then quizzes after each section. There are 30+ building options for this set and I think the suggested ages of 8 years and older are in line with how the instructions read, but kids as young as 5 can build with some assistance as well.

I have to say right off the bat that the lack of printed instructions makes this a little frustrating. The set has so many cool things that can be done, but without the printed instructions, you have to have a website and it's harder for gift giving or for the kids to do on their own since it then requires the internet and supervision on the computer. This is already harder than some popular brand name blocks, and it's just made even harder without printed instructions. I don't mind playing with the babies and getting hands on with the toys, but it's often more fun for them to see the pieces on paper and try to recreate it themselves.

That being said, my nephews love this set! It's one of the more complex sets we've built together, but it is a ton of fun. There are some basic instructions included and we did those first because I went through screenshotting and printing others. I hadn't heard of this brand before, but it has some awesome designs and things that can be done with their sets. The set is compact, which I like, but the transformations it can make are worth working it out. There are 30 designs, although some of them aren't all that different. Several are quite a transformation though. The tool included to break it back down is helpful. These would likely hold together with block glue if you have a collector on your hands, though.

Really, my biggest complaint is the need for internet and their special app to download and work with this set. I don't like adding apps to devices and integrating more screen time, and I like even less allowing permissions. It's a nice set and would make a great gift if it didn't require an app and downloads to get all the instructions. It works fine as is, of course, but it's less fun knowing there are other design templates that require screen time.

It is still worth getting. If you want to put time in, you can print your own instructions. I'd still get this again and do think I'll add more sets, I'm just frustrated at the lack of forethought about the printed instructions.

My 10 year old is in 4th grade and has been doing remote virtual learning this year. He has been doing great but definitely needed some hands on STEM activities to help with his learning experience. I wasn't familiar with the brand but this product was the form factor I was looking for.

This set is well thought out and well designed set. The construction is very good. The plastic is strong but slightly flexible which makes it pretty durable. There is an included tool that helps you separate the pieces. This is an outstanding addition and saves your fingers and nails from having to pry the pieces apart.

There are instructions for the first few builds. Use the app to additional builds. I love the app as it shows you lots of different views and angles to help you make the more complicated builds.

My kids love Lego's so this was a great and cheaper alternative for them. The kit comes with lots of different build options. The directions are really easy to read and the information goes beyond just how to build, but what you're building and what it can do. The storage is a total win and snaps close for storage and travel. Highly recommend

FAQs

What is the appropriate age to play with ENGINO?

The ENGINO system has been tested with children with the association of teachers and the department of Education of the University of Cyprus. It has been found that small models can be built even by 5 years old children. Bigger and complex models are more suited to 8-12 year olds, and our robotics and mega sets are targeting both youngsters and grown-ups as being more hobby items.

What if I lose some parts or manuals? Can I get replacements?

You can buy parts, instructions and books at a very low price from our online shop.

How is the quantity of parts compared to value for money?

Usually construction toys refer to the number of parts contained in a set as an indication of the set's building value. With ENGINO system this reference does not actually apply because the system is unique and the design of the parts allows multiple connectivity in all directions at the same time. As a result, there is no need for intermediate connectors between rods while ENGINO rods are also connectors! The ENGINO system can be described as a combination of the brick system and the spatial "connectors and rod" system. As of that, with ENGINO to build a model you only need around half the parts that you would require with any other conventional system! Furthermore, as ENGINO parts are bigger, the model is also bigger and more manageable. Parts are not easily lost and sets can combine together to create an infinite number of builds. Because the "number of parts" is actually misleading, we have introduced a new term called "connecting points" that indicates how many connections are possible with the particular parts contained in each set.

How many product ranges do you offer?

We offer 14 series that total to 85 products covering a wide range of price, age and choice.
