Description

The new STEAM LABS™ toybook series has been developed based on the latest pedagogical trend that incorporates “Arts” within the STEM wording. Even though art is an inherent part of the engineering design process, “A” puts emphasis on one of the highest brain functions of human beings, that of inspirational creativity. “Inspiration” has been the driving force behind all humanity’s masterworks, either inventions, architecture, music, painting or literature. STEAM LABS™ toybook series innovate further by bundling the toy with the Theory & Activity book on the outside of the box, shrink-wrapped together. Each set includes sheets of paper with pre-defined sketches which kids can paint, cut and attach on their models. The books explain the theory about the subject and include smart experimental activities that relate to each theme. These books come with our free Augmented Reality app (AR) that makes content much more engaging and entertaining!

For ages 8-12+

The quality of the plastic and connectors is excellent. We’ve built and rebuilt the same set many times, and it still feels brand new.

Priya Nanda, San Jose, CA

We gave an Engino STEM kit as a birthday gift — it completely outshined the other toys! It keeps our son engaged for hours while teaching him valuable skills.

Ali Khan, Toronto, ON

The instructions are super clear and visual. My 8-year-old was able to build models all by himself within minutes. Great confidence booster!

Sarah Thompson, Chicago, IL

We tried several robotics kits before this, but Engino stands out. It’s not just plug-and-play — kids actually learn how the parts work.

Our boys (aged 10 and 5) both got lots from this set and enjoyed it enormously. The builds are really fun and make sense. There's loads of educational material to go with it too and it's not patronising or simplistic in it's presentation. Our 10 year old appreciated the tone. The materials are good, though there is some perishable paper parts. Good variation too with a choice of builds. We like this and will buy more from the series.

This is a fantastic set that really engages and makes learning fun.
There is a lovely booklet with history of sea and fun facts.
You get to make a body, sea vessel ,sail boat and lastly a submarine.
The booklet also explains science behind each experiment.
There is 3d viewer available to help build too!
The pieces are like legs bits and come with a extractor tool.
You can print more skins online aswell so could repeat its not a one time make. The only things you need you will easily find round the house and a empty 500ml bottle.
Fantastic learning without technology
My sons special needs and he found this very very interesting and even went off and did his own research and experiments.

The idea of this kit is you can build various structures using the kit provided to then do a science experiment. The pieces are well built and the connections are nice and tight, and the instructions (all pictorial) are clear. You can then go ahead and do the science experiment although perhaps some further science explanation would have been nice.

The only objection I have to this is I'm not sure how long it will continue to be enjoyed - it's not like Lego in that you can go and build your own structure (well, you can but there's not enough pieces to encourage so much creativity) and once you have done it will you do it again?

I think it's nice as a gift but just question how often it will be played with. In fairness it does come with at least 3 different projects so there's clever originality and engineering to encourage that.

Sun and Fun Days :)

- I got this for my 9 years old nephew who like to build things, and this is a fine kit for kids to build new things, be creative and innovative as well learn science. 2 in 1 benefits of the kit which is excellent.

- I got the buoyancy kit and it teaches the principle of floating, how boats floats on water and other applications, facts. A fine learning technique as well as to build it.

- 4 models can be build each different from the other. There are surface panels on which kids can draw and colour making it look attractive. Instruction manual provided to build. Kids learn to build better as they keep on doing it. Not too hard to assemble with the snap out system making it easy for kids.

- A fun and educational gift for kids to learn and create something new.

FAQs

What is the appropriate age to play with ENGINO?

The ENGINO system has been tested with children with the association of teachers and the department of Education of the University of Cyprus. It has been found that small models can be built even by 5 years old children. Bigger and complex models are more suited to 8-12 year olds, and our robotics and mega sets are targeting both youngsters and grown-ups as being more hobby items.

What if I lose some parts or manuals? Can I get replacements?

You can buy parts, instructions and books at a very low price from our online shop.

How is the quantity of parts compared to value for money?

Usually construction toys refer to the number of parts contained in a set as an indication of the set's building value. With ENGINO system this reference does not actually apply because the system is unique and the design of the parts allows multiple connectivity in all directions at the same time. As a result, there is no need for intermediate connectors between rods while ENGINO rods are also connectors! The ENGINO system can be described as a combination of the brick system and the spatial "connectors and rod" system. As of that, with ENGINO to build a model you only need around half the parts that you would require with any other conventional system! Furthermore, as ENGINO parts are bigger, the model is also bigger and more manageable. Parts are not easily lost and sets can combine together to create an infinite number of builds. Because the "number of parts" is actually misleading, we have introduced a new term called "connecting points" that indicates how many connections are possible with the particular parts contained in each set.

How many product ranges do you offer?

We offer 14 series that total to 85 products covering a wide range of price, age and choice.
