Description

The new STEAM LABS™ toybook series has been developed based on the latest pedagogical trend that incorporates “Arts” within the STEM wording. Even though art is an inherent part of the engineering design process, “A” puts emphasis on one of the highest brain functions of human beings, that of inspirational creativity. “Inspiration” has been the driving force behind all humanity’s masterworks, either inventions, architecture, music, painting or literature. STEAM LABS™ toybook series innovate further by bundling the toy with the Theory & Activity book on the outside of the box, shrink-wrapped together. Each set includes sheets of paper with pre-defined sketches which kids can paint, cut and attach on their models. The books explain the theory about the subject and include smart experimental activities that relate to each theme. These books come with our free Augmented Reality app (AR) that makes content much more engaging and entertaining!

For ages 8-12+

The quality of the plastic and connectors is excellent. We’ve built and rebuilt the same set many times, and it still feels brand new.

Priya Nanda, San Jose, CA

We gave an Engino STEM kit as a birthday gift — it completely outshined the other toys! It keeps our son engaged for hours while teaching him valuable skills.

Ali Khan, Toronto, ON

The instructions are super clear and visual. My 8-year-old was able to build models all by himself within minutes. Great confidence booster!

Sarah Thompson, Chicago, IL

We tried several robotics kits before this, but Engino stands out. It’s not just plug-and-play — kids actually learn how the parts work.

Building and colouring your very own green house is such a great idea for children, engaging through the whole process, the manufacturers have the age range spot on 8+ -100.
Children love getting involved with gardening and it's such a fantastic learning tool as well as a bonding expereince.
My son who is 9 needed a bit of help putting the greenhouse together but after that he loved the whole process of decorating the greenhouse and making it his own.
You have to provide your own soil and seeds ih encourages you child to make choices as to what they want to grow.
Harvest your little gardener, teach them about temperature control, to check soil quality, encourage them to take full control and be responsible for their own science experiment.
The greenhouse can be used over and over again and you can monitor what grows well and fast and monitor daily progress.
I really can 't praise this kit enough, children aren't even aware they are learning and it's good for the enviroment, we looked at plants and how the bees need these to survice so froma greenhouse we were able to move onto ecology and save some bees as well.
Excellent value for money, perfect for home schooling, as a hobby, something for grandparents to do with their grandchildren and amzazing for the environment.
I kept my son;s greenhouse in the conservatory which is a perfect breeding ground with the humidity and temperature.

Always go with stem learning toys for kids. They are really great value. Especially if your kids are missing school etc due to the pandemic.
This one is a cracking buy at £20.
We went with the greenhouse. It is a treat for being good.
It is quite taxing for a 5 year old. That is for sure. So he needs help. But we are getting there.
It is like meccano in a way. Solid pieces which are fitting together nicely and at the end we will have learned plenty about the way greenhouses hold heat and keep plants away from adverse conditions.
The fact you can decorate this the way you want is awesome. Such a cool feature.

Taken from the instructions.

This is a skill that could be very interchangeable in the future.

Super book, greenhouse, concept. I hope it has enthused the little one to an extent.

Great value. Great toy. 5* Top marks all round.

In this greenhouse set there are clear instruction on how to build the greenhouse, with an app which gives a 3D interaction model which help kids on the model building. The border of the greenhouse are paper strips with patterns for colouring in.
There are 4 small plant pots provided but the compost and seeds is not given.
The booklet included provides some fun facts about planting, greenhouse and agriculture etc, which is very fun and interesting for kids learning about growth of plants.
The finished greenhouse is smaller than I expected, need to choose smaller size plants but growing from seeds will take a lot of patience. Wish it can be a bit bigger to accommodate bigger plants.
This will be a great topic to learn during this summer holiday.

This is an impressive educational toy that’s also fun to build and follow the brilliant workbook provided. The box contains everything you need to build a fully functional mini greenhouse, as well as plant pots. You will need some compost and seeds to fill in the work book tasks. It also comes with skins to colour and instructions for downloading skins from the Engino site, you can also create your own. You can also download an app for instructions in 3D view. The parts are sturdy and look good quality.

The booklet that comes with this toy takes this to another level. As well as fully illustrated instructions with list of materials there’s a brief history of agriculture, information on plants, photosynthesis, respiration, transpiration, types of greenhouse, experiment work sheet with exercises, note pages and a knowledge quiz to test what was learned.

Toys like this have several levels of entertainment and educational value. There’s something to build, interesting reading material, an ongoing experiment to follow over time and basic IT skills involved in downloading skins to colour and using the app. Once built the greenhouse can be used for growing experiments and continue to be used to grow seeds.

I’m so impressed by this kit I will be buying others for birthday and Christmas presents. My 10 year old nephew can’t wait to build this, he is really interested in their garden and helping with planting. I will add some pics when he’s built it.

This is small but it’s an excellent kit for my 7 year old who has an interest in growing things like sunflowers and tomatoes.
The learning side is very good, the book has a lot of info about history and growing science and it’s done in a good looking way for kids. It’s also heavily backed up with technology as you can downloads skins and instructions if you want.
It’s funny how once you build it there is the big wait for stuff to grow so I recommend something fast growing like cress which is easy to grow and appears in a couple of days.
Highly recommended for the kids, the price is very reasonable especially when you compare it to other things.

FAQs

What is the appropriate age to play with ENGINO?

The ENGINO system has been tested with children with the association of teachers and the department of Education of the University of Cyprus. It has been found that small models can be built even by 5 years old children. Bigger and complex models are more suited to 8-12 year olds, and our robotics and mega sets are targeting both youngsters and grown-ups as being more hobby items.

What if I lose some parts or manuals? Can I get replacements?

You can buy parts, instructions and books at a very low price from our online shop.

How is the quantity of parts compared to value for money?

Usually construction toys refer to the number of parts contained in a set as an indication of the set's building value. With ENGINO system this reference does not actually apply because the system is unique and the design of the parts allows multiple connectivity in all directions at the same time. As a result, there is no need for intermediate connectors between rods while ENGINO rods are also connectors! The ENGINO system can be described as a combination of the brick system and the spatial "connectors and rod" system. As of that, with ENGINO to build a model you only need around half the parts that you would require with any other conventional system! Furthermore, as ENGINO parts are bigger, the model is also bigger and more manageable. Parts are not easily lost and sets can combine together to create an infinite number of builds. Because the "number of parts" is actually misleading, we have introduced a new term called "connecting points" that indicates how many connections are possible with the particular parts contained in each set.

How many product ranges do you offer?

We offer 14 series that total to 85 products covering a wide range of price, age and choice.

INVENTOR BASIC SERIES- has been developed for maximizing creativity and imagination. In this range many different models can be created from a wide range of themes, from cars to motorbikes, from planes to cranes, from structures to machines, from animals to robots!

INVENTOR PRO SERIES- is the ultimate range and it is more suitable for intermediate and advanced users who literally “play to invent”! The models created with these sets are bigger and more elaborate and also incorporate technical features. The advanced motor included can be powered with the wired remote control, but it is also connectable to the ENGINO Solar panel and the new ENGINO Robotics Platform (ERP).

INVENTOR UPGRADE SERIES- has been created to allow users to expand their existing sets without having to buy the bigger sets at full cost. These lower upgrade sets begin from the 20 models set and cover each step up to 80 models set.

SOLAR POWER SERIES- uses photovoltaic panels to drive the various models and also have hybrid functions, in-line with the latest technological trends. Global warming and climate change has brought to our attention the need to save the planet by reducing carbon emissions.

MEGA STRUCTURES SERIES- demonstrates the ability of ENGINO to build huge models of impressive size and style. The series covers famous structures such as the Eiffel Tower and technological marvels such as the London Eye.

ECO BUILDS SERIES- is based on a new innovation of ENGINO toy system which connects sustainable beech wood with plastic. The use of wood reduces significantly the plastic parts and leads to more efficient recycling making this product an environmental friendly solution.

PICO BUILDS SERIES- is an ideal low cost entry to the award winning ENGINO toy system. With each set children can build a fully functional model with specialized colors to highlight the particular model.

PICO SPINNERS SERIES- is a new range of colorful spinners. Each set contains a special spinner support component, a printed color disk and a library of ENGINO parts. When all 4 sets are combined, 3 models of planes and helicopters can be assembled!

ENGINO ROBOTICS PLATFORM (ERP) is specially designed for younger children and takes into account the most modern pedagogical principles of learning. ERP intellectual development is approached as an upward expanding spiral in which children must constantly reconstruct the ideas formed at earlier levels with new higher order concepts acquired at the next level.

MECHANICAL SCIENCE SERIES- has been developed for schools and individuals who want to combine theory with practice. The series deals with the core subjects of mechanics and simple machines in a fascinating and enjoyable way, leading children to the attainment of knowledge through experiments and hand’s on activities. It also extends to cover other important science subjects such as structures, bridges, Newton’s laws and renewable energy.

How ecological are ENGINO sets?

ENGINO pays much attention to the manufacturing and distribution of ecological products. All products are environmentally friendly because they can be recycled. ENGINO offers solar products where the motor is powered by solar panel instead of batteries. We have also launched the award winning series of Eco Builds which is based on a new innovation of ENGINO toy system connecting sustainable beech wood with plastic parts. The use of wood reduces significantly the plastic parts and leads to more efficient recycling, making this product an environmental friendly solution.
